Hi, I’m Benjamin — a Redlands-based photographer passionate about capturing the moments, places, and people that make life feel real. From timeless architecture to heartfelt portraits, my lens tells stories rooted in emotion, texture, and light.
Hi, I’m Benjamin — the photographer behind ShootRedlands. I’ve been capturing the world through my lens for over six years now, and what started with a hand-me-down Nikon in middle school has since evolved into a full-blown passion and business. I’m based here in Redlands, California, where I specialize in architectural, landscape, portrait, and event photography — with an eye for natural light, texture, and emotion.
What I love most about photography is the way it slows time down. Whether I’m biking around town hunting for the perfect golden-hour shot or working with a client to tell their story through branding photos, I’m always chasing the small, meaningful moments that others might overlook. Photography has been my creative outlet and coping mechanism, and I put that energy into every shoot — no matter how big or small.
I’m self-taught, motivated, and detail-obsessed — especially when it comes to editing and color grading. It’s in the post-processing where a photo really comes to life, and I always aim to bring out each image’s unique personality.
Thanks for stopping by. If you’re interested in working together — whether it’s a family portrait session, a downtown Redlands event, or custom branding for your business — I’d love to hear from you.
For me, photography isn’t just about snapping what’s in front of me — it’s about noticing what others might pass by. I approach each shoot with curiosity, patience, and intention. Whether I’m photographing the character of historic buildings, the energy of a local event, or the emotion in someone’s eyes during a portrait session, I aim to tell a story that feels honest and timeless.
I don’t believe in rushing the process. Great photos come from slowing down, observing the light, reading the scene, and building trust with the people I’m photographing. I prefer natural settings and real moments over stiff poses. My goal is always to create an environment where you feel comfortable being yourself — because that’s when the best shots happen.
Editing is where I bring everything together. I treat each photo with care — adjusting tones, bringing out textures, and creating a final image that reflects not just how the moment looked, but how it felt. I want every image I deliver to hold up years from now — not because it was trendy, but because it was true.
For years, my trusty Canon Rebel T6 was my go-to — the camera that taught me the craft, helped me sharpen my eye, and captured hundreds of meaningful moments. I recently upgraded to the Canon EOS 2000D, and with it, I’m continuing to push my creativity and precision forward with each shoot.
While gear plays a role, it’s the vision, timing, and care that make a photo truly stand out. I approach every session with intention — chasing light, framing emotion, and letting moments unfold naturally. Whether I’m shooting crisp architecture or candid portraits, my goal is to create something real and lasting.
Editing is where my work really comes to life. I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop — part of the Adobe Creative Suite — to fine-tune each image with color, contrast, and subtle enhancements that bring out its full character. It’s a process I enjoy deeply, and one I take my time with.
When I’m not shooting or editing, you’ll probably find me biking around Redlands scouting new spots or experimenting with fresh ideas to keep evolving as an artist.
